The Significance of Clinical Findings of Hypertensive Disorders in Pregnancy

Abstract
A statistical review was undertaken for the significance of clinical findings on women with HDIP (Hypertersive Disorders in Pregnancy) who were admitted to Kwangju Christian Hospital from January 1, 1987 to December 31, 1991, by evaluating 546
cases of
HDIP among 17,669 delivers.
The incidence of HDIP was 3.1% of total deliveries.
And mild preeclampsia was most common (47.8%) at classification. Of the 18 clinical findings, there was a significantly higher incidence of HDIP among patients, who were less than 19 years old or more than 35 years old, who lived in rural area,
primiparous mother, and twin pregnancy respectively.
Compared with the control group, there was a significantly increased incidence in patients with HDIP as follows. Less than 35 weeks of gestational age, less than 2,500 g of fetal weight, rate delivery by cesarean section and oxytocin induction,
less
than 7 of 5 minute apgar score, rate of intrauterine fetal death, more than 1+ of proteinuria, and decreased hemoglobin and platelet.
